The design of the Beowulf series is the result of over 20 years of continuous design evolution aimed at perfecting the short-handed cruising model. She is easily handled by two people offshore and in port maneuvering in close quarters (under sail and power). With two crew, Beowulf easily and comfortably sails at 270 to 300 miles a day in the trades, whilst retaining the ability to power faster, for longer distances than comparably sized motor yachts.
These yachts have a highly functional and comfortable pilothouse, with excellent visibility in all directions, from which they can be sailed and maneuvered under power. Watertight bulkheads, a double bottom, and tough aluminum scantlings gives physical and mental comfort. Carefully executed systems provide ambiance, yet minimise maintenance. Her engine room is a marvel of simplicity and access.
Beowulf holds a variety of elapsed time records, all set with just the two Owners on board. These include the record for the Caribbean 1,500, Mari Cha 111s record in the Guadaloupe Antigua Race, the fastest passage on record between California and the Marquesas Islands and back from the Marquesas to California (to mention a few).
This is the perfect boat if you want to cruise comfortably, quickly, and safely, without the hassle of crew, or a load of maintenance headaches.
